Hi I’m Ben
What is Mirror Mind Therapy
I’m a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) specialising in Polyvagal Theory (nervous system regulation) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I currently work as a Mental Health OT in the NHS, and due to the growing demand for deeper, more personalised mental health support, I founded my own private practice: Mirror Mind Therapy.
While most Occupational Therapists focus on adapting the external environment to improve function, my approach is different.
I help people change their internal environment by regulating their nervous system, because the state of your nervous system is the lens through which you experience the world.
Your nervous system shapes:
-
the thoughts that arise
-
the behaviours you’re drawn to
-
your emotional capacity
-
how others perceive and respond to you
-
your ability to rest, connect, create, and take meaningful action
Until your nervous system is regulated, nothing in your external reality truly changes.
But once it begins to heal and settle, everything shifts.
When we learn to understand, regulate, and befriend our nervous system states, it becomes possible to choose healthier habits, create supportive routines, and move through life with greater ease. This internal shift naturally improves emotional well-being, physical health, motivation, relationships, and your overall perception of what’s possible.
For many of my clients, the results have been profound.
When they release stored emotional tension and unhelpful patterns held in the body, they often experience:
-
a surge in self-belief
-
renewed motivation
-
meaningful changes in daily habits
-
improved mental and physical well-being
-
a more hopeful and empowered outlook
-
deeper, healthier relationships
This creates an upward spiral, stronger self-belief leads to more aligned action, which leads to more internal regulation.
I call this turning point mental freedom.
It’s the moment your nervous system’s baseline shifts into rest and digest, allowing you to meet life with clarity, presence, and genuine possibility.
Healing your nervous system doesn’t just change your mindset, it transforms how the world shows up to meet you.

The 3 Pillars of Mirror Mind Therapy
At Mirror Mind Therapy, we see challenges in dating, social situations, and leadership as mirrors showing where your nervous system is asking for more safety, capacity, and freedom. Moments of social anxiety, self-doubt, or hesitation aren’t signs that something is wrong with you — they’re signals inviting deeper self-connection. True confidence isn’t something you fix or force; it emerges naturally when your nervous system becomes regulated and responsive rather than reactive. These three pillars form the foundation of that shift.
- Somatic work/embodiment work Many men live in their heads, overthinking conversations and monitoring how they’re perceived, which disconnects them from their bodies and weakens their presence. Through embodiment and nervous system regulation, we help you reconnect with your physical experience so that confidence is felt rather than performed. As tension, shame, and fear release, your body naturally communicates safety, your posture opens, your voice steadies, and connection with others becomes effortless.
- Changing Your Relationship With Emotions and Challenge Men are conditioned early on to avoid tension, play it safe, and see stress and other painful emotions as something to eliminate. But stress and experiencing strong emotions isn’t the problem… It’s whether your nervous system has the capacity to experience challenge as a threat or a tool for growth. We help you retrain your body to stay grounded at the edge of your comfort zone, so situations that once triggered anxiety become energising. This allows you to speak clearly, express interest, and hold boundaries with calm confidence.
- Shadow work
Men with low self‑worth often carry the belief that they are fundamentally unlovable. This belief leads them to hide parts of themselves, their emotions, desires, and instincts in order to feel accepted. At Mirror Mind Therapy, we use an integrative approach that combines shadow work, coaching, and guided meditation to help you reconnect with these disowned parts. Instead of rejecting or suppressing them, you learn how to meet them with understanding and self‑respect.
Work With ME
My Therapy and Services
Work with me 1-1
Specialised support for embodied social confidence…
The challenges you face in dating, social situations, and leadership aren’t random; they’re reflections of how safe your nervous system feels being seen, expressed, and connected. Social anxiety, hesitation, or self-doubt don’t mean something is wrong with you; they point to specific patterns your body learned to protect you. When you want to resolve something this precise, you don’t need general advice or surface-level men’s coaching; you need focused, specialist work.
In our 1-to-1 sessions, we work directly with embodied social confidence using the three pillars of Mirror Mind Therapy. Through nervous system regulation, embodied exposure, and pattern re-training, we dissolve social anxiety at its root rather than managing it. This isn’t about learning lines, tricks, or performing a role; it’s about teaching your body that it’s safe to be present, expressive, and grounded. As your nervous system settles, confidence stops being something you try to project and becomes something others feel naturally in your presence.
Mindfulness and Somatic Embodiment Community Group
Healing your nervous system doesn’t happen in isolation.
Safe, attuned connection with others is one of the most powerful regulators of the nervous system, teaching your body that it’s safe to be seen, heard, and supported. Our biweekly online community calls bring together like-minded men in a grounded, non-performative space where social presence can be felt and embodied, not forced. Simply being in a regulated group begins to restore trust in connection and confidence around people.
Within this container, we use guided movement, breathwork, and nervous-system-based meditation to release accumulated stress and subconscious emotional patterns that keep men stuck in fight-or-flight. Most daily stress is suppressed and carried forward, quietly eroding confidence, health, and capacity for connection. These sessions offer a consistent practice to discharge that load, reset your nervous system, and reconnect with your body.
Membership includes access to both live groups and an expanding library of resources, including interactive workbooks, meditation courses, supporting embodied social confidence, dating, and living a life of ease and adventure.
Monthly Workshops
These monthly in-person workshops are designed for men who are deeply invested in their personal growth and committed to becoming the most confident, grounded version of themselves. Building on the foundations of the weekly online groups, these sessions create a powerful space for real-world integration. Being in the room with like-minded men accelerates growth, as shared intention and attuned connection act as a strong regulating force in themselves.
Each workshop includes live nervous system integration through breathwork and somatic model work, alongside deeper experiential drills designed to reinforce clear, grounded social habits. We work directly with connection, attraction, boundaries, and leadership, training your body to stay regulated while being seen, heard, and engaged. These sessions aren’t about pushing past fear, but expanding your internal capacity to experience more from life. The result is confidence that feels natural, stable, and transferable into dating, leadership, and everyday social life.
Going Deeper
The Stories We Tell Ourselves
In my 20s, I struggled with dating, work, and social confidence. I wasn’t just shy. I had no friends, no love life, and was even given disciplinary at work for lacking confidence. I tried everything. I read books, took courses, worked with private 1-on-1 mentors, and even learnt card magic to make me more social. But nothing worked. On the outside, I looked confident, but inside, it felt like I was constantly wearing a mask. No matter what I did, there was this lingering feeling that I did not belong, was not valued, and it was not safe to be myself.
The truth was, I was carrying a quiet story of shame and fear deep in my subconscious—a pattern in my nervous system I didn’t even realize was running my life. But everything changed when, at 25, I experienced a powerful embodiment meditation that helped me finally let go of that story and accept myself for who I was at my core. It was like a weight lifted off me. I stopped trying to be someone else and started showing up as myself.
From that moment, everything changed. I stopped hiding. I stopped performing. And instead, I started feeling and truly accepting who I was in my own skin. Conversations that once died on me became effortless. I no longer needed to impress or win anyone over… because I finally trusted that I was already enough.
Dating became less about ‘game’ and more about genuine connection. I attracted women who resonated with the real me, because… I already liked myself. It was as if that once critical voice in my head was now saying, “I like who I am, so why shouldn’t you?” And there was no need to overthink my every move or word. There was a calm confidence in knowing I could be vulnerable, open, and still deeply respected.
At work, things shifted fast, too! I stopped playing small. I started speaking up, not with arrogance, but with clarity and confidence that reflected my true potential. I brought more creativity, leadership, and vision into the room… and people noticed. I went from fearing criticism to actually welcoming feedback.
Money started flowing in ways that felt aligned with who I was, not something I had to hustle or suffer for. Sometimes I didn’t even know where it had come from. I just looked in my account and there it was!
And socially? I became magnetic. I didn’t try to be the most interesting person in the room… I just owned myself. There was no hidden agenda. Just presence. Old friends and even people who used to tease me back in school started asking what had changed. “You’re so confident now… what happened?”
The answer was simple: I let go of the story that I wasn’t enough. I dropped the roles. The rules. The exhausting need to prove something and protect myself against a threat that only existed in my imagination. And I reclaimed the freedom to just be me… In love, in purpose, and in life.
That moment was the beginning of what would become Mirror Mind Therapy, the same process I now use to help people like you uncover and release your limiting beliefs holding them back from self-acceptance and uncovering their limitless potential to live a meaningful life.
